In Enemy Unknown, using total concealment on the player was a real pain because you couldn t do anything while concealed. Not so in XCOM:EU, since you can move normally, use abilities and move as fast as you like. The only time you can correct your concealment is when the aliens move during a two-turn movement, so you will have to have a fast Reaction Drone or Assassin to reliably keep up.
I always liked the cover mechanic in Enemy Unknown. It was an elegant solution to the cross-map bug game, making every soldier in cover have the same probability of survival. You could take your time and strategically position your men behind a rock or other cover, or keep classes in the same spots and allow the magic aura to save them.
